Yes, our Intruder Alarms are suitable for both home and businesses in Ireland.

A self-monitored alarm is a system that uses an app on your phone to notify you about any alarms or faults. Moreover, in most alarm systems, you can also set or unset the alarm via the app. However, the app may require a small yearly or monthly fee to cover the cost of a cloud account and the device data used to send notifications.

A fully monitored alarm is a more comprehensive system, offering all the features of a self-monitored alarm, plus 24/7 remote monitoring by trained staff at an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).  When the alarm is triggered, your alarm sends a signal to the Alarm Receiving Centre.  

When an alarm is triggered, you will receive a phone call from the monitoring centre to notify you of the alarm or fault.  If the alarm is confirmed as real, the monitoring centre will take the appropriate action e.g. contacting the Gardai to respond. You can also nominate other "keyholders" who will be called should you not answer.

First, it is essential to note that Remote Monitoring does not require a dedicated or specific alarm system. The alarm you have installed may already work with Remote Monitoring. 

The alarm system must be at least Grade 2. Grade 2 alarms are designed to resist experienced intruders using basic tools and are the standard for most homes and low- to medium-risk commercial properties in Ireland.

Your alarm should also have ARC Connectivity, i.e., the system must be capable of connecting to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) or monitoring station. This can be achieved via GSM, phone line, or the Internet (TCP/IP). For higher reliability, systems should support dual-path communication (e.g., both the Internet and a mobile SIM) to ensure alerts are sent even if one path fails.

A Monitored House Alarm offers a higher level of security. It notifies a professional monitoring station of any threats, allowing for a quicker response from emergency services. This can deter potential intruders and provide you with greater peace of mind.
